More than 250,000 road kilometers have been saved in the Netherlands-Poland alone<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We are also constantly investigating how it can be more sustainable in the field of transport. Not surprising, because in our two Dutch locations in Oosterhout and Giessen we produce about 110 million tube kit per year for both the national and international market. The production of those 110 million tubes also requires more than 35,000 tons of raw materials and empty tubes, and we try to transport all these goods in an environmentally friendly manner. Due to the short distances and the wide spread, this is often no different for the national market than with the truck, but we try to handle international transport by train as much as possible. That is why we as Den Braven participated at an early stage in the Lean & Green Off Road<\/a> within the Top Sector Logistics. This program aims to scale up intermodal transport through a regional approach aimed at shippers and carriers. By making more use of rail and water (Off Road), the action program creates space on the roads for better traffic flow and inland road transport, with which it meets the objectives of Lean & Green Europe. \u2018 Off Road \u2019 is a national action program of Lean & Green in which several different companies enter into regional cooperation. A so-called \u2018 Joint Corridor \u2019 in which goods are bundled in a smart way. Thanks to the development of joint rail corridors, shippers can take 80% of international road transport. As mentioned, Den Braven also participates in this unique collaboration. Together with a.o. We have set up a \u201c Joint Corridor \u201d to Poland in Samsung and other leading producers and we share a train to transport our goods from the Netherlands to Poland. The goal is to get as much \u201c Off Road \u201d as possible, off the road. We all know that the roads are silting up and there are many traffic jams every day. Many truck rides are saved through these types of programs and collaborations. This means fewer wheels on the road and on the Netherlands-Poland route alone, Den Braven has achieved a reduction of more than 250,000 road kilometers per year.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Fewer trucks on the road also means less CO\u2082 emissions. In addition, the driver shortage and the lack of logistics personnel will also be anticipated, which will only increase in the coming years. As a last advantage, which is certainly not unimportant, this collaboration also ensures that we have fewer transport costs on an annual basis. Why such cooperation is special is that all companies that work together also share data with each other. Intermodal shuttles have been around for a long time, but then there is always a Rail Operator in between and the customers have no contact with each other and know nothing about each other. Now it is the shippers who do it together and that gives some complexity and extra effort. In addition to mutual information flows, each company must ensure that their goods are loaded on time to catch the train. Gebroeders Versteijnen Transport (GVT) is responsible for the logistics part in the Netherlands for Den Braven. GVT ensures that there are enough empty units at our factories in Oosterhout and Giessen to load our goods and that they are sent by train to their own terminal in Tilburg Rzepin (Poland) are put. Once in Poland, transport company H. Essers ensure that our goods are delivered to the right destination at the right time. This program is so successful that it is currently being investigated to set up multiple such partnerships at other destinations. By seeking cooperation with other shippers in the region and cleverly joining our cargo with the forces of logistics service providers, Den Braven takes its social responsibility in the field of environment and sustainability.
